Melody’s Echo Chamber returned to New York City on Friday, May 15th to deliver a spellbinding set at Webster Hall. Melody Prochet and her band are currently on the road touring her beautiful and lush record, Unclouded, which features orchestration and production courtesy of Sven Wunder. The evening was launched by an opening set by Austin outfit Strange Lot, who brought some great modern psych-rock energy to get the crowd plenty excited.
Around 8:30PM, Melody’s band entered and began playing a gorgeous, eastern-tinged psychedelic jam until Melody Project entered to a unanimous uproar. That jam led directly into “Eyes Closed” from 2025’s Unclouded, and many more tracks from the record followed consecutively.
“Burning Man” was a charming highlight, with its twinkling guitar leads and it’s popping breakbeats– jazz drummer Malcolm Katto (who has worked with DJ Shadow, Madlib and more) brought a really sensational touch to her tunes; Melody’s current tour is especially excellent with his involvement.
“Memory’s Underground” was another highlight from the new record, and its triumphant chorus brought the energy up in the room, which only seemed to rise higher and higher throughout the next portion on the set.

Upon realizing the first few moments of “Crystallized” from her debut album – the crowd’s enthusiasm shot up wildly. While the first portion of the set enchanted the crowd with ethereal versions of Unclouded material, the more “throwback” portion of the evening in the back half of the set reminded fans exactly why they fell in love with Melody’s music in the first place.
Throughout the whole set– Melody’s presence was truly magical, and she had the crowd in the palm of her hand. With any slight movement from Prochet, the crowd would copy her exact dance moves. When Prochet would sway her arms back and forth, or begin headbanging– the crowd would instantly mimic her every move right back at her with adoration. She was like a vibe curator; or a movement director who harnessed the energy of the room. Her free spirit guided and commanded the entire, while radiating purely good vibes. As I looked around, all I could see was people smiling, swaying, dancing and locking their gaze on her. It was as if she secretly sprinkled some psychedelic pixie dust all over the audience that hypnotized them. Prochet would always smile from ear to ear after the applause from each song– it's always nice to see a performer loudly enjoying the love from their fans in such a genuine way.

Upon announcing “Bisou Magique”, the crowd only grew more exhilarated. Her throw-back jams started to incorporate more fuzzy guitars, phasers and psych-rock elements that dialed things up nicely. Melody closed her set with timeless tunes: the melancholy sway of “I'll Follow You” swooned the crowd into a sense of euphoria, and her new and instantly classic-sounding song “Daisy” featured extensive jamming from her band, until they said goodnight.
ENCORE
It didn't take very long for the crowd’s applause to convince Melody”s Echo Chamber to come back for an encore– and it only took the first few notes of “Shirim” for the audience to realize that the band was set to tear down the house. “Shirim” is such a fan favorite and a major banger– the excitement, cheering and dancing skyrocketed to a feverish peak. Prochet is modern-psych royalty at this point, and this song served as a loud reminder.
The disco ball started shimmering twirling lights all over Webster Hall as the band leaned into the insane rock outs that define “Shirim”; as the guitar triplets and scuzzy fuzzed out bass lines dominated, the fans shouted in approval.
And just like that– it was over, and ended on an extreme high. Melody’s Echo Chamber delivered beautifully, yet still left the audience craving just a tad more– perhaps that's the point, and in any case, we will absolutely be there next time.
