The Hives live at Brooklyn Paramount by Tommy Krause

On Wednesday, Swedish rock band The Hives took over Brooklyn Paramount and gave an electric performance. The band was joined by Australia’s The Chats, who delivered a high-octane set of Aussie pub punk to start the evening on quite the high note.

The Hives took the stage around 9PM, decked out in black suits with that had light-up effects on the trim . While their set was heavily marked by tunes from their newest LP—The Hives Forever The Hives — they tore through tons of the classics that fans wanted to hear, from “Main Offender” to “Hate To Say I Told You So”.

Just before their encore, “Tick, Tick, Boom” was a notable moment of explosive energy. While the energy of the whole band was peak all night, Lead singer Pelle Almqvist was particularly on fire— especially as he made his way into the crowd of adoring fans.
